About Me

Who I Am

I am an enthusiastic and creative nonprofit development professional with exceptional communication skills. I love solving problems and exploring new ideas, and I strive for authenticity, purpose, and value in my life and my work.

After studying journalism at Indiana University, I started my career in sales and marketing. Eventually, I left the corporate sector to pursue more fulfilling work in nonprofits, where I gained experience in grant writing, program management, strategic planning, training and professional development, and nonprofit best practices. Like many others in this field, my work has evolved over time. Fortunately, my outstanding communication skills, experience in grant writing and marketing, and passion for strengthening community have proven to be valuable tools on my mission to elevate the work of nonprofit organizations.

Today, I enjoy working with a variety of nonprofits in the human services sector to improve their grant readiness, engage in strategic planning and program development, and create tools and resources that support their ability to achieve their goals and create a positive impact in our community. I am especially passionate about supporting grassroots and community-led organizations, as well as those focused on domestic violence prevention, access to early childhood care and education, and financial stability for women and girls.

When I’m not working with social impact organizations to make the world a better place, I enjoy reading, cooking, listening to true crime podcasts, managing my Etsy shop, and spending time with my husband and our pets.

Values

  • I believe we’re at our best when we bring our whole selves to work. That’s why you’ll find me challenging the status quo, having honest conversations, providing candid feedback, and honoring boundaries - both yours and mine - so that we can do our best work together.

  • I honor people over process and process over product. I prioritize relationships, connection, and collaboration with my clients. I strive to apply an equity lens to every aspect of my work by seeking diverse perspectives, centering impacted leadership, and working to reduce identity-based outcome disparities.

  • I’m a perpetual learner at heart. I’m always seeking new knowledge and understanding, and I reject perfectionism in favor of challenging myself and my clients to try new things because I know that a commitment to continuous improvement will ensure we’re successful in the end.
